  • Djembe video tutorials now online

I'm pleased to announce that a new series of how-to videos for learning djembe are now up on the MelodicArts YouTube channel! These videos supplement our existing djembe page where you will find notation and mp3 files to help you learn a few central rhythms for song accompaniment. We'll work to integrate these videos into our site so you can find all the resources in one place, but in the meantime please spread the word to anyone interested in learning djembe, and enjoy.

  • New CD in the works - organic world percussion and flutes

Cheryl and I are sticking close to home these days while I lay down tracks for my first instrumental recording in five years! I've been looking forward to this for a long time, and am working on an album of rhythm and flute, with djembes and hand percussion from around the world blended with natural flutes from many cultures. In particular I am using the bansuri, the bamboo flute which is much loved in India. You will be able to listen to samples very soon, and either download the album or buy a physical copy through our partner, MelodicArts. I can't wait for you to hear it...
